Assistant Nurse Manager – Pediatrics (Inpatient)
Shifts Available: Nights
Hours per Week: 30 hours
Job Summary: The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pediatric inpatient unit, ensuring quality care, and adherence to regulatory standards. This role includes managing staffing, budgets, and quality improvement initiatives, while also supervising a team of 20-60+ employees.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, and budget management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as departmental policies.
- Develop and implement action plans for staff development and quality improvement.
- Monitor and allocate personnel based on patient needs, ensuring optimal care and cost-effective services.
- Manage human resources, safety programs, and risk management within the unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers across units to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Address and resolve patient and family concerns related to care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an inpatient acute care pediatric unit.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role such as charge nurse, lead nurse, or quality improvement champion.
- Current California RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience in a union hospital environment preferred.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary: $152,000 – $156,000
