Job Overview - Senior Pediatric Registered Nurse:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our client's foster care program in Queens, NY. This temporary role involves managing the medical needs of children, conducting clinical assessments, coordinating care, and leading a team of nurses.

Compensation: $55/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities as the Senior Pediatric Registered Nurse:

  • Clinical Assessments: Conduct intake assessments, HIV risk assessments, and general first aid and triage activities.
  • Screenings: Perform screenings for substance abuse, developmental health, mental health, and physical body checks for abuse.
  • Care Coordination: Facilitate patient management of chronic conditions, provide patient and caregiver education, and establish medical treatment goals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervision: Oversee and supervise a team of nurses, ensuring compliance with responsibilities and regulatory standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain patient health records, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage documentation and data entry standards.
  • Medication Management: Administer vaccines, monitor infection control practices, and manage medication records and follow-up.
  • Patient Education: Provide education on reproductive health, chronic condition management, and emotional/psychiatric support in collaboration with behavioral health providers.
Qualifications for the Senior Pediatric Registered Nurse:
  • Experience: 5+ years of Nursing experience with 2 years of Supervisory experience required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Nursing (BSN/MSN).
  • Licensure: NYS Registered Nurse License.
  • Certifications: Current certification by American Red Cross (or equivalent) in First Aid and CPR.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in a child welfare environment is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; bilingual skills are a plus.
