Job Description

Job Overview – Hospice Registered Nurse (RN):
Provide compassionate and expert care as a Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) with our client in Sussex County, NJ. This field-based role spans Sussex County, delivering clinical care, coordination, and emotional support to ensure patients and families experience dignity and comfort during the hospice journey.

Compensation: $53/hour
Location: Sussex County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM


Responsibilities as the Hospice Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Fieldwork: Deliver care directly to patients and families in their homes and communities, ensuring accessibility and continuity of services throughout Sussex County.
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct ongoing physical and psychosocial evaluations, adapting care plans to meet changing patient needs.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to update nursing diagnoses and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Education & Advocacy: Educate patients and families about rights, advance directives, and the Medicare Hospice Benefit, offering tools and resources for understanding.
  • Clinical Oversight: Supervise hospice aides and LPNs to ensure compliance with care standards and protocols.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications per policy, ensuring accurate documentation.
Qualifications for the Hospice Registered Nurse (RN):
  • Licensure: Active RN license in New Jersey required.
  • Education: Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Experience: At least 1 year in Hospice, adult/pediatric, or medical/surgical care required (home care experience preferred).
  • Skills: Strong assessment, documentation, and interpersonal abilities, with expertise in supporting families during high-stress situations.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with electronic medical records (NDOC preferred).
  • Certifications: CPR certification preferred.
