Job Overview – Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shifts:
Take on an impactful role with our client as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in night shifts at a hospice care facility in Newton, NJ. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care during critical hours. You’ll provide physical and emotional support, ensure thorough documentation, and work collaboratively with the care team to uphold high standards of hospice care.
Compensation: $50/hour
Location: Newton, NJ
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 2-3 shifts per week
Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse (RN):
- Patient Care: Perform ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments of hospice patients and implement appropriate treatment modalities.
- Medication Management: Administer and document medications per policy, including patient and family education.
- Clinical Coordination: Communicate changes in patient conditions with physicians, families, and care teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Documentation: Record vital signs, treatments, nursing interventions, and patient responses in compliance with agency policies.
- Support & Education: Facilitate self-direction and independence for patients and families, providing emotional support and education during high-stress situations.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
- Licensure: Licensed to practice as an RN in New Jersey
- Certification: CPR/AED certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in Adult or Pediatric Medical/Surgical Clinical Care required (hospice or home care experience preferred).
- Skills & Attributes: Exceptional clinical, assessment, and documentation skills with strong communication and organizational abilities to support patient and family needs effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic medical record systems.
- Preferred: Clinical knowledge of end-of-life care and a passion for serving patients and families during critical moments.
