Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
  • Schedule: Duty hours will be 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (M-F), with an allotted hour for lunch. Some overt time may be required.

Requirements: The Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience: minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical nurse in the medical/surgical or critical care inpatient setting and 1 year of perioperative and/or gastroenterology nursing experience within previous 5 years is required.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Web-based classes do not meet these standards.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Job Summary:

  • Perform outpatient clinic functions such as telephone consults, lab callbacks,
    ordering diagnostic studies and teaching colorectal screening classes.
  • Perform perioperative nursing for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
    with the provisional use of moderate sedation as needed.
  • Manage Schedules, Teach colorectal screening classes, Perform perioperative nursing care
    Peer review May be required to precept newly assigned nurses to the clinic.
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise the care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergencies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services as identified in the official Task Order.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
