Job Overview – RN Emergency Room Nurse (Mid-Day Shift):
Join our client as an RN Emergency Room Nurse in the Bronx, NY, and take on a vital role in delivering urgent, life-saving care. In this mid-day shift, you will assess, prioritize, and treat patients in emergency situations, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. This role requires expertise in critical care equipment, quick decision-making, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Compensation: $62/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Flexible Days, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
Responsibilities as the RN Emergency Room Nurse:
- Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients’ clinical conditions, recognize critical situations, and take immediate, appropriate action in emergencies.
- Emergency Care: Initiate therapeutic measures, including medications, IV therapy, and respiratory interventions, when a physician is not immediately available.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor emergency care equipment such as infusion pumps, ventilators, cardiac monitors, and pulse oximeters.
- Documentation: Record observations, nursing interventions, and therapeutic measures, maintaining accurate and timely patient records.
- Care Coordination: Develop, implement, and document patient care plans, ensuring assignments match staff skills and patient needs.
- Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure: Active NY RN license required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience with expertise in ventilator operation.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to float to Med-Surg or ICU units as needed.
