About the Program: The StaRN (Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses) program is a PAID Nurse Residency. Program featuring didactic and clinical training. It allows new graduates to transition from the classroom to the acute care setting. The program is ~ 1 year. Nurse Residency Program
Part 1: Training ~ 10-12 weeks
- • Didactic training: introduces core curriculum and hospital initiatives
- • Simulation training: reinforces nursing skills learned in the didactic setting
- • Hands on training: application of clinical skill set in assigned department
Part 2: Clinical Preceptorship ~9 months
• The new Nurse is paired with trained preceptor
• Monthly resident seminars focused on nursing issues key to quality outcomes
• Routine check-ins with formal 30-60-90 day reviews by Nursing leadership
