We are currently hiring a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN) to serve at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington.

Position Details

  • Status: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday–Sunday, with various shifts available, including:
    • 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
    • 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
    • 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
    • 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
    • 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
    • 11:00 PM–7:30 AM

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma, Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or equivalent authorization from any U.S. jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates.
  • Manage infants with respiratory support devices, including oscillators, ventilators, iNO, CPAP, SIPAP, nasal cannulas, and tracheostomy tubes.
  • Develop and update individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor IV fluids, blood products, and insertion sites, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Perform neonatal catheter care and other basic infant care procedures.
  • Assist and educate breastfeeding mothers to support nutritional needs.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, suction devices, and infusion pumps.
  • Administer prescribed medications and understand potential interactions between drugs.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant for complex cases, supporting other nurses and healthcare providers.
