Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg unit, you will provide exceptional, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiac conditions. You will collaborate with the care team to assess, treat, and manage patients while delivering compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include monitoring patient status, administering medications, performing procedures, and educating patients and families about care plans, medications, and necessary follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Evaluate patient conditions during admission and throughout shifts, identifying any changes and reporting them promptly.
• Care Administration: Perform procedures and monitoring functions as prescribed by medical providers and document care accurately in patient records.
• Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, observe patients for therapeutic responses, and address any adverse effects promptly.
• Patient Education: Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and necessary follow-up, ensuring clarity in communication.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience: 1 year of acute care RN experience within the past 4 years.
• Certifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, and must hold either an RN compact license or a state license in Florida.

Additional Information:

• Patient Ratio: Comfortable working with a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• In-Person Interview Required: Virtual interviews will not be considered unless followed by an in-person interview, including shadowing, facility tour, and an administration member interview.
• Internal Movement: Position open due to internal promotions or RN movements to other specialties.
• Unit Size: 45 beds in the unit.
