Vice President of Nursing
Department: Nursing Division
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer
Classification: Exempt-Executive
Employment: Full-Time, Onsite (Yakima Center)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Vice President of Nursing (VPN) leads nursing operations across various programs, ensuring high-quality, client-centered care. This role focuses on leadership, clinical oversight, staff development, client advocacy, budget management, and collaboration.
In this role you will:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight of nursing policies and standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evaluate clinical performance metrics.
- Integrate evidence-based practices and new technologies in care delivery.
- Foster professional growth through education and mentorship.
- Work with HR on recruitment and performance evaluations.
- Ensure client-centered services and advocate for client rights.
- Develop individualized care plans and support recovery principles.
- Manage the nursing department's budget and staffing levels for optimal care.
- Act as a liaison among nursing staff, physicians, and administration.
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a master's degree in nursing or related field (DNP preferred)
- Current RN license in Washington State
- 10+ years nursing experience, including 5+ years in leadership within behavioral health
- Is comfortable in a Clinical environment with exposure to diverse client conditions.
- Able to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Able to travel 5% - 25% outside Yakima County.
