Director of Nursing Needed in Virginia

Our client in the Roanoke, Virginia Area, isthe only not-for-profit, community-based hospice in the Roanoke and New River Valleys.

They are seeking a talented and compassionate Director of Nursing to join their staff.

The Director of Nursing (DON) coordinates and supervises the overall provision of nursing care to hospice patients and their families. The DON directly supervises the Assistant Directors of Nursing, triage nurses, and the after-hours team and indirect reports including nurse care managers and hospice aides.

This position is responsible for ensuring excellent quality of patient care and compliance with state and federal regulations and hospice standards of practice. The DON promotes team building across the organization and works closely with the departments of counseling services, education, finance, and quality.

Regular working hours for staff are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Salary:

• Salary: $85,000 - $97,000

Requirements for the DON include:

• Active VA Nursing License (Compact License Allowed)
• BLS
• At least five years of nursing experience (hospice experience strongly preferred)
• Three years of experience as a nursing supervisor
• Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Ability to inspire and mentor staff and promote teamwork
• CHPN certification is preferred.
