Manager of Surgical Services – PACU
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manager of Surgical Services to oversee daily operations of designated units within the Surgical Services division. This role includes managing either an inpatient unit or an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice: Serve as a resource and role model. Develop and evaluate policies, ensure competency-based staff assessments, and promote ongoing education.
- Personnel Management: Recruit, hire, and evaluate RN staff. Provide counseling, manage staffing patterns, and coordinate staff meetings.
- Leadership: Facilitate interdepartmental relationships, demonstrate critical thinking, and act as a change agent. Develop future leaders.
- Quality Assurance: Gather and analyze data, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and monitor unit quality and safety.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and prioritize departmental needs. Educate staff on budgetary goals.
- Labor Management: Ensure a cooperative and efficient work environment.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of RN clinical experience, with 2 years in Perioperative Services and 4 years in management.
- Education: BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Oregon RN License, Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire.
- Preferred: 2 years of Critical Care experience (MPU or SPA/PACU), certification in specialization (e.g., CNOR, CPAN)
