Specialty: Trauma Surgery APP (NP/PA) - Part-Time
Location: Pennsylvania
Facility: Level III Trauma Center
Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) to join our trauma surgery team on a part-time basis. This is a high-priority position at a Level III Trauma Center, ideal for providers with a strong background in trauma and emergency general surgery.
Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shifts: 7 shifts per month with day and night shifts available
- Day Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM
- Night Shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Coverage Need: Support trauma center operations, including emergency general surgery cases
- EMR System: Cerner
Provider Responsibilities:
- Respond to trauma activations
- Conduct daily rounds, write progress notes, complete H&Ps (History and Physicals), and discharge summaries
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals; will not work solo
Patient Mix:
- Trauma Cases: 50%
- Surgical Cases: 45%
- Burn Cases: 5%
- Typical cases include falls, motor vehicle collisions (MVC), and major complications or comorbidities (MCC)
- Procedures performed: appendectomies, cholecystectomies, exploratory laparotomies, and hernia repairs
Provider Requirements:
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Licensure: Must have a valid Pennsylvania state license
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a relevant field
- DEA Required: No
Travel & Lodging:
- Travel: Airfare, mileage, lodging, parking, rental car, and ground transportation covered
