Your New Role:

• Position: Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Clinician (NP/PA)

• Job Duration: Locums (Long-term, 6+ months)

• Patient Population: Emergency Medicine patients, handling an annual volume of 40,000 with approximately 2 patients per hour

• Assignment Dates: Start ASAP upon credentialing (90-day process)

• EMR: MedHost ED, Medictech inpatient

  Requirements:

• State License:

• Active Virginia NP/PA license required

• Certifications:

• Board-Certified in NP/PA (Emergency Medicine preferred)

• Life Support Certifications (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) required

• COVID-19 vaccination or exemption required

• Experience:

• Minimum of 3 months as a Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine

• Excellent bedside manner and compassion for patient population

  In this Role:

As an Emergency Medicine APC at our healthcare facility in Pittsylvania County, VA, you will cover 20 shifts per month in a busy Level 3 Trauma Center with 27 ED beds. You will manage a high patient volume of approximately 40,000 annually, handling around 2 patients per hour and performing emergency assessments. This role requires flexibility to work all shift types (days, mids, nights) and occasionally respond to codes as part of the Rapid Response team. Utilizing the MedHost ED and Medictech inpatient EMR systems, you will deliver high-quality emergency care independently while collaborating with a team of 17 MDs/mid-levels during the day and a smaller team at night. No admitting orders are required, focusing instead on bridge placements and stabilizing the Emergency Department program.
