Job Overview – Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
Step into a rewarding role as a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our client in Queens, NY. In this position, you’ll deliver compassionate nursing care to children, focusing on assessments, chronic condition management, and caregiver education. Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to address the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children while upholding the highest standards of care and compliance.
Compensation: $40/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Assessments and Screenings: Perform HIV risk, intake, and screenings for substance abuse, mental health, and physical abuse.
- Patient Care: Manage chronic conditions, provide reproductive health education, and complete physical clearances for visits and discharges.
- Clinical Support: Assist with procedures, administer vaccines, perform EKGs, and manage supplies and medication records.
- Education and Advocacy: Educate caregivers on health needs, set treatment goals, and collaborate on psychiatric care.
- Infection Control: Ensure proper infection control, maintain accurate health records, and meet compliance standards.
- Follow-Up Care: Oversee post-appointment care, including hospitalizations, and ensure accurate documentation of treatments.
- Licensure: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification from the American Red Cross (or equivalent) required.
- Experience: At least 2 years in pediatric nursing with trauma counseling, child welfare, and phlebotomy skills, including vaccination administration.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities, with strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with AccuMed or similar healthcare systems; experience maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Preferred: Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
