Job Overview - Pediatrics Nurse (LPN):
Join a compassionate team in Queens, NY, as a Pediatrics Nurse (LPN), where you’ll assess and manage the medical needs of children in foster care. This temporary role includes clinical assessments, care coordination, and maintaining compliance in medical documentation.
Compensation: $40/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Pediatrics Nurse (LPN):
- Medical Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments, including HIV risk evaluations, physical clearances, and screenings for developmental, mental health, and physical concerns.
- Coordination: Manage and facilitate treatment plans for children with chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes, while coordinating follow-up care and referrals.
- Clinical Support: Provide on-site medical care, including EKGs, administering vaccines, and assisting pediatric providers with clinical procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all medical records and documentation meet regulatory requirements and are accurately maintained in the EMR (AccuMed).
- Management: Monitor infection control protocols and ensure proper medication tracking, including follow-ups after appointments or hospitalizations.
- Licensure: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid license.
- Experience: Proven experience in pediatric care, including phlebotomy, reproductive counseling, and pediatric trauma.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification (American Red Cross or equivalent).
- Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills (strong phlebotomy skills are required).
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and prior experience in a child welfare environment.
