Matrix Providers is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse - Women's Health (LPN) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Buckley SFB in Aurora, CO.
- Employment Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Compensation: $28.00/hr + $4.57 H&W with a 2,500.00 sign on bonus.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

The Licensed Practical Nurse - Women's Health (LPN) must have and meet the following:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program and Graduation from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
- Certification: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross Healthcare Provider Course.
- Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
LPN Core Job Duties:
- Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
- Complete assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information.
- Observe, identify and respond to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care and patient/family education.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
- Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
- Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient’s condition before, during, and following the procedure.
- Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice.
- Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction.
LPN - Women's Health Specific Tasks:
- Serves as a practical nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
- Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures; sets up procedure room and equipment; provides individualized patient teaching on a preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
- Prepares and administers prescribed medications by oral, sublingual, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous, topical, dermal and inhalation routes.
- Prepares and positions patient for examinations and treatments. Participates in in-services and continuing education programs.
- Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and other health team members.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
- Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
- The nurse shall provide patients with the utmost care and attention. All patients shall be assured of their privacy and personal dignity.
- The nurse shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established standards of the MTF, to include, but not limited to, timeliness, accuracy, content and signature. Only MTF, Air Force, or DHA-approved abbreviations shall be used for documentation of the patient health record.
- Shall be able to read, understand, speak, and write English well enough to communicate effectively and be a United States citizen.
- Must have, as a minimum, a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) from an accredited national, state or military trained equivalent school.
- Shall have and maintain an active, valid, current, unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in a US jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of standard nursing care principles, procedures, and practices.
