Magnet Recognition Program®
Union Hospital received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in January. ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® identifies superior quality in nursing care and is the highest national honor for nursing excellence.
Currently, only 378 U.S. health care organizations out of over 6,300 U.S. hospitals have achieved Magnet recognition.
To achieve Magnet recognition, organizations must pass a rigorous and lengthy application process that demands widespread participation from leadership and staff. The process includes an electronic application, followed by written documentation demonstrating qualitative and quantitative evidence regarding patient care and outcomes.
